What popcorn popper should I use? Riehle's Select Popcorn will work in any stovetop popcorn popper or in at least a six quart stovetop pan with a lid. Our Gourmet Popcorn and Specialty Gourmet Popcorn will also pop in electric popcorn poppers of any kind. Our Gourmet Popcorn Line will work in all air poppers. The Specialty Gourmet Popcorn Line (the small kernels/hulless varieties) may work in some air poppers, but not all air poppers. The hulless varieties are lightweight so they sometimes blow out before they pop. We are unsure which air poppers work the best for hulless popcorn. We are going by customer feedback that the hulless varieties pop in some, but not all air poppers.
What does hulless popcorn mean? The hull of popcorn is the seed coat, all popcorn has one. The popcorn we consider hulless, or virtually hull-free, are the varieties that are very small in size. Once the popcorn pops, most, if not all, of the hull disintegrates, leaving a small tender kernel that is easier to eat and digest than most popcorn.
Which popcorn variety is best for kettle corn or carmel corn? All of our popcorn pops up as a butterfly-shaped popcorn. Most popcorn used for kettle corn or carmel corn that has a "ball" left after stirring is a mushroom-shaped popcorn. We do not have any of this variety. If you are wanting carmel corn for home use and do not mind the popcorn breaking into pieces, any variety will work and taste good.
What kind of oil should I use? Riehle's Select Popcorn will work with any oil. This is a personal preference.

What is the shelf life of popcorn? As long as the popcorn is stored in sealed tight containers in a dry, cool place, it should last for a year or longer on a shelf. The microwave popcorn will have an expiration date because of the oil inside.

Where can I find Riehle's Select Popcorn? Currently, we are located in a few stores in various areas. The Stores do not carry all of our products. If you would like Riehle's Select Popcorn in your area, ask a local store, gift shop that carries some food items or deli's or health food stores to consider carrying our product.
